Alp-Ell with view of the Säntis

Hut with Säntis view on the Alp-Ell: 10 sleeping places (2 beds, 1 Keihütten bed and 6 people sleep on mattresses on the floor). Family farm Biohof Schmid.

Fully furnished alpine hut, cooking and eating utensils, electric cooker with oven, fridge with freezer compartment, wood heating, mattresses with fitted sheets, woollen blankets, bathroom with shower, radio, seating area with bench, barbecue.

How to find the Alp Ell
Toggenburg is located in the centre of eastern Switzerland, a good hour's drive from Zurich and the airport.
From the south of Germany:
Via Bregenz and St. Margrethen on the A13 motorway to Haag, then towards Toggenburg/Wildhaus or via Constance to Wil.
From the greater Zurich area:
Direction Rapperswil, then over the Ricken Pass to Wattwil or via Winterthur in the direction of Wil/Wattwil/Toggenburg.
Public transport:
You can also get around Toggenburg by public transport. The Wil-Neusslau and St Gallen - Lichtensteig routes are served by rail. And there are bus connections almost everywhere.

In the winter months from December to March, you have to take the chairlift from Krummenau up to Alp ELL.
From there it is about 300 metres straight ahead on foot to the Alp.
You can book transport for your luggage with the railway, which will bring everything to the hut. If the railway is not running, we will provide transport as far as possible.
In the winter months, please make sure you arrive at the Krummenau valley station by 4 pm, as you have to take the chairlift up, as the cable car does not run later.

Our animals
We have suckler cows with calves on our farm. The animals are on the alp from May to October.

    “Positiv: ruhige Lage nahe genug am Sessellift Negativ: Ich finde die Unterkunft bei wenigen Leuten zu teuer. Zudem werden nicht mehr einzelne Nächte berechnet wie früher. Also wenn einmal nur 2 Personen schlafen und in der nächsten Nacht 6 Personen, dann bezahlt man immer für 6 Personen. Restaurant: - - - Ausflüge: Wolzenalp - flacher Spaziergang im schönen Moor”

    “Wir kommen definitiv wieder, Danke für Alles. Positiv: - Super tolles Vermieter-Ehepaar, Merci viel Mal für alles!
    - Tolle Region, Tourismusverein gibt sich sehr Mühe mit "Goodies" wie z.B. dem "Grill- Butler" die bei der Grill-Stelle auf dem Klangweg für die Touristen grilliert haben, oder die Pferdekutsche die einem kostenlos zur Bushaltestelle gefahren hat
    - Ausstattung der Alp was Geschirr etc anbelangt super Ausflüge: Klangweg Toggenburg - Wir haben die 2. Etappe vom Berghaus Iltios zum Berghaus Oberdorf gemacht. Schöne Wanderung mit coolen Klanginstallationen, toller Aussicht und 2 Grillstellen unterwegs”

    “Anita und Res sind sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Das kurzfristig bestellte Bio-Entrecôte vom eigenen Hof war sehr lecker. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft! Positiv: Idyllisch gelegen. Optimal für Wanderungen. Negativ: Nichts. Restaurant: Bergrestaurant Wolzenalp - Schöne Terrasse zum Geniessen und toller Spielplatz für die Kinder. Ausflüge: Gebirgsrundwanderung - Anstrengende aber schöne Wanderung.”
